Politics 365

In addition to its signature NSLVE study on campus voting rates, the Institute for Democracy & Higher Education undertakes qualitative research to examine the campus climates and institutional characteristics that lead some colleges and universities to have higher than expected political participation.

This book chapter, reprinted here with permission as an IDHE Report, features an exclusive look at a portion of IDHE’s qualitative findings. This set of data, known as Politics 365, explores the themes seen at institutions with unexpectedly high student voting rates.

You can also read more about Politics 365 and IDHE's campus climate research in the 2018 Change Magazine article, "Promising Practices to Facilitate Politically Robust Campus Climates," by Nancy Thomas and Margaret Brower.
